Badger NAMA at J. Henry & Sons

Written by NAMA on Monday, March 11, 2019 , 10:19 am

On February 28th, Badger NAMA enjoyed networking, conversation and education at J. Henry and Sons. The Henry farm has always been known for seed corn. After a trip to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, owners Joe & Liz Henry determined they could make bourbon, because by law, 51% of the spirit must be corn. Using heirloom, red corn developed at the University of Wisconsin, Joe and Liz started to grow the red corn and after a few years were producing enough corn to make their first batch of bourbon.

All bourbon from J. Henry & Sons is aged for five years before it can be enjoyed. The marketing campaign encourages consumers to “Reward Yourself” by enjoying the premium product. During the tour, participants learned about the marketing of spirits, distribution of the bourbon and opportunities the farm has in the future.

Midsouth NAMA at the Farm and Gin Show

Written by NAMA on Monday, March 11, 2019 , 10:18 am

The Mid South Farm and Gin show is a great place for Ag folks to gather. The event provided a great backdrop for Midsouth NAMA chapter members and the Mississippi State University Student Chapter to get together to hear the students pitch their latest and greatest Ag product. Veteran members, who have experience with judging the student competition, as well as newer members, provided great feedback for the students.

Attendees represented a great cross section of specialties, which provided a well-rounded critique. The meeting also provided time for the students and professional members to mingle. Thank you to the Southern Cotton Ginners for hosting.

Onward and Upward in the Connection Point

Written by NAMA on Friday, February 1, 2019 , 9:14 am

Every year at the Agri-Marketing Conference, professionals involved with selling products and services to the agricultural marketplace gather to explore the latest in techniques, trends and practices.

2019 conference will be held at the Sheraton Crown Center Hotel in Kansas City. If your target audience includes agrimarketers, you can’t afford to miss the 2019 Connection Point.

An effective, affordable marketing investment

In today’s world of voice mails and emails, the Connection Point offers a unique opportunity for face-to-face contact. Something every business can use!

Research shows a single, personal sales call can cost $500 or more. In some industries—such as ag—that can go much higher, both because of technical expertise needed and because the market is so geographically dispersed. Your participation in the Connection Point will enable you to make sales calls much more economically!

And it is a sales opportunity. In a recent study, 91% of respondents ranked trade shows as an “extremely useful” source for product purchasing information and nearly half had purchased products or services at a trade show.

Approximately 1,200 people attend the Agri-Marketing Conference each year to explore the latest ideas and insights and share what’s working for them. The Connection Point is an integral part of this event and gives you the opportunity to see—and be seen by—a high concentration of individuals who make and/or influence ag-related buying decisions.
