Don’t Forget About the Fort Worth Ag Tour

Written by NAMA on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 , 12:14 pm

Conducted by the Southwest NAMA Chapter

Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind?

Well, it should on April 26! You won’t want to miss out on this one-of-a-kind tour to Dallas’ neighbor to the west: Fort Worth, Texas. Known as the “City of Cowboys and Culture,” Fort Worth embraces its authentic western heritage while also being home to first-class art museums, a vibrant music scene, friendly folks and excellent steak houses.

Simply known as “Cowtown,” Fort Worth will take you back in time as you arrive in the famous Fort Worth Stockyards to enjoy a chuckwagon breakfast complete with cowboy coffee and hot biscuits. We’ll gather in the Livestock Exchange Building in the studios of Superior Livestock Auction and hear about the economic impact that agriculture has in the city.

Presenters from the National Cutting Horse Association and special rangers from the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, who serve as law enforcement officers recovering millions of dollars in livestock and assets thefts, will share their stories with you. RIDE TV and Superior Livestock reps will also discuss the value and importance of agriculture across their many media platforms. You’ll also hear from the owner of one of the largest ranches in Texas who will explain how they market their cattle locally and internationally.

Then it’s time for a tour of the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. Go back to the 1800s when you see the world famous Fort Worth Cattle Drive of Longhorns who traverse the brick streets twice daily. Want to buy a new pair of boots? We’re saving time for some souvenir shopping…or that cowboy hat you’ve always longed for. There will still be time for a swing through Billy Bob’s Texas, “The World’s Largest Honky Tonk,” to grab some barbeque and beer before heading back to Dallas.

Join us to “Discover Fort Worth—The Wall Street of Texas with Cowboys and Culture.”

Cost for the tour is $70 and includes transportation, breakfast and lunch, plus more surprises.

7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Support ABEF at the Agri-Marketing Conference

Written by NAMA on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 , 2:32 pm

ABEF is the backbone of Student NAMA. Here are some ways to support ABEF at the upcoming Agri-Marketing Conference!

Century Club
Investing in the Century Club provides you the opportunity to step forward and help advance the future of agribusiness. Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders and the Century Club support is dedicated to investing in scholarships for tomorrow’s leaders.

All members of the 2017 Century Club will be entered to win a “Wine of the Month Club Membership.” The drawing will take place at the Trade Show Closing Reception on April 27 in Dallas! Click to view the 2017 Century Club and make your donation today!

Topgolf Outing
Last year was such a success that ABEF is continuing the alternative golf outing again for 2017! Join your peers at Topgolf for a competitive and fun time everyone can enjoy—no golf experience required.

Here’s how it works… Take a swing at microchipped golf balls, aiming them at targets to rack up the points. Just picture a 240-yard outfield with dartboard-like targets in the ground. You can choose from different games where you aim your golf balls at different colored targets. The closer to the center or “bull’s-eye” you get and the farther out into the field you hit, the more points you receive. Plus, enjoy great drinks and food in an upscale club atmosphere. Fore!

When: Tuesday, April 25, 2017
Where: Topgolf Dallas
Time: 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
Cost: $100/person

A chartered bus will leave the hotel at 2:30 p.m. to take everyone to Topgolf. Appetizers and drinks will be provided. Click here to register.

Sponsorship Opportunities
There are still some Agri-Marketing Conference Sponsorships available that are ABEF related. Get your company noticed in Dallas by sponsoring one of the following:

  • •   Student Marketing Competition: $5,000
  • •   Student Party: $3,000
  • •   Student Competition Judges’ Reception: $1,000
  • •   Student Competition Judges’ Breakfast: $750
  • •   Student NAMA Scholarships

If you are interested in any of these sponsorships, or if you have an original idea, please contact Jenny Pickett.
