Mid-America Chapter Planning Meeting

Are you a new NAMA member or a seasoned veteran? Would you like to see the Mid-America NAMA Chapter become active again? If you answered yes to both questions, then you are invited to join the Mid-America Chapter leaders for a planning meeting.

When: Thursday, May 14, 2015
Time: 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

It’s time to put the Mid-America NAMA Chapter back on the map.

Directions and Parking Update:

Due to construction, a section of the road Beck’s is located on (276th Street) is closed. If you’re coming from the west, please use the detour route listed below. Traffic coming from the east, is not affected by the construction.

Coming from the south on St. Rd. 31 (Indianapolis)

  • Turn right (east) on 266th Go about 5 miles.
  • Turn left (north) on Gwinn Rd. Go 1 mile.
  • Turn left (west) on 276th
  • Follow Event Traffic parking signs.

Coming from the north on St. Rd. 31 (Kokomo)

  • Turn left (east) on 266th Go about 5 miles.
  • Turn left (north) on Gwinn Rd. Go 1 mile.
  • Turn left (west) on 276th
  • Follow Event Traffic parking signs.

Parking

  • Follow Event Traffic parking signs.
  • The main office is on the south side of 276th.
  • Once you come into the office, we will have people to direct you.

Midsouth NAMA Event

MidsouthNAMABBQ Fest!

USA Today named the beloved Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest as America’s number-one barbecue competition. This May, the Midsouth NAMA chapter is invited for a behind the scenes look at what it takes to compete at this prestigious event.

Midsouth member Kelli Polatty has been a part of the Swine & Dine team for the last 17 years, and she has agreed to play hostess for the May meeting.  They will have some award winning BBQ with trimmings and hear from the team cooks about the steps they take to compete, from the category itself down to how they select their meat.

When: Thursday, May 14th @ 11:30 a.m.

Where: The Swine & Dine Team Booth, Tom Lee Park

On Wednesday, May 20, join the Badger NAMA Chapter as they learn about marketing in the grocery industry AND prepare a savory Mexican-Spanish meal with a professional chef.

4 p.m. | Store Director Kristie Maurer will share the store’s strategy for appealing to diverse downtown consumers and competing with other area grocery chains.

University of MN Student NAMA Awards Recognition

Members of the North Central NAMA Chapter gathered on Wednesday, April 29, to recognize the achievements of the University of MN Student NAMA Team who placed 6th at the national conference.  The guest speaker was Tim Burke, Sr. VP Group Account Director at Martin Williams, who discussed strategies for career planning and gave advice to those entering the job market.  Congratulations to all of the University of MN students for a job well done!
