North Central NAMA Ag Day Event

Please join the North Central Chapter as they celebrate National Ag Day by connecting local agri-marketing professionals for networking and a little bit of learning. They will be hosting a panel discussion with leaders from the livestock industry, including representatives from the Minnesota Beef Council and Minnesota Pork Board. Refreshments and light appetizers will be provided.

Celebration of AgMark Tuesday, March 22 on your calendar for the 30th Celebration of Agriculture

There is a dinner and speaker, Dr. Lowell Catlett, Professor of Economics, Agriculture and Genetic Engineering at New Mexico State University.  His presentation “When Farmers Rule the World” should prove thought-provoking and highly entertaining.

Help NAMA Combat Hunger, Register to Run Today

Last year 48,000 older Iowans received help through home-delivered meals from WesleyLife Meals on Wheels, more than 35,000 were left in need. The Iowa NAMA Chapter asks that you join them to stand against hunger by participating in the Cold Run for Warm Meals – a 2.5 mile run/walk benefiting WesleyLife Meals on Wheels.

Iowa 3 8 16 IMG_184711Iowa 3 8 16 IMG_18445On Tuesday, March 8, Iowa’s Secretary of Agriculture, Bill Northey, spoke to the Iowa NAMA Chapter at their monthly meeting at the Monsanto Facility near Huxley, Iowa.

Mr. Northey gave an update about the state of Iowa’s agriculture, and the opportunities and challenges our producers face today. He provided some great insight into the audience we, as marketers, try to reach every day.

Florida NAMA Event Recap

Florida Feb 2016 IMG_6503 Florida Feb 2016 IMG_6508 Florida Feb 2016 IMG_6512Florida NAMA Professional members and Student members attended the Florida Ag Hall of Fame Dinner at the Florida State Fair in Tampa on February 9th.  Producers and industry members honored included:

1)   Thomas H. Braddock from Duval County, Florida. He currently manages his cattle and timber operation while remaining active in the Florida agricultural community.

2)    Dr. Joseph C. Joyce, Gainesville, Florida served as the Senior Associate Vice President of University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences for 20 plus years and will serve as Director of the IFAS Center for Leadership until his retirement later this year.

3)    Billy Kempfer is partner with his brother and family on Deer Park Ranch-Kempfer Cattle Company located in Brevard and Osceola Counties. The ranch is a diversified operation with commercial beef cattle along with Purebred Brahman and Angus.

4)    Dr. Charles F. “Chip” Hinton, Brandon, Florida grew up in Pensacola. He was a leader on numerous committees and councils for all segments of agriculture, including research, labor, environment and outreach.  Dr. Hinton’s guidance led to many advances across Florida agriculture.

Students and professional members mingled with many Florida agricultural leaders and producers.
