18 in ’18!

Written by NAMA on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 , 11:35 am

We’ve set a goal of 1800 NAMA members by the end of 2018 – 18 in ’18.

Our latest membership survey proves that word-of-mouth marketing is the best way to let people know about the great programming and networking opportunities in NAMA.

We challenge everyone in the organization to recruit a new member. Just have your recruit(s) list your name in the “Referred by” field on the registration page https://nama.org/NAMA.OrchardWeb/MemberRegistration/Register. We’ll draw names of “Referrers” each month for a special gift.

We’ll update this chart each month.

Ag Association Leader of the Year Award

Written by NAMA on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 , 11:31 am

NAMA has named Kendal Frazier, Chief Executive Officer of the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA), as the inaugural Ag Association Leader of the Year.

This award recognizes outstanding achievement and excellence among senior executives who have made significant contributions to the agriculture industry in their roles with association or commodity organizations. Frazier will be honored during the 2018 Agri-Marketing Conference, April 11-13, in Kansas City, Missouri.

Frazier’s tenure with NCBA began in March 1985, and during his more than three decades with the association he held leadership roles with its communications, governance and issues management functions. Frazier served as the Chief Operating Officer before being named CEO in 2015.

Throughout his years of service to the beef community, Frazier has worked on a number of high-profile projects and issues. For instance, he played a lead role in coordinating the beef industry response to the first U.S. case of bovine spongiform encephalopathy. He also developed and/or managed a number of award winning communication tools utilized by NCBA today, including NCBA’s Cattlemen to Cattlemen, National Cattlemen and Directions.

Frazier was also instrumental in retooling the annual Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show to expand the industry-leading trade show, along with increased opportunities for experiences and entertainment, improving the event for attendees. This strategic shift has spurred significant growth in attendance, leading to consecutive attendance records in recent years, thanks in part to Frazier’s leadership and vision.

In addition to his work at NCBA, Frazier has also served in volunteer leadership roles with the Livestock Publications Council, Agriculture Council of America and more recently with the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance (USFRA).

NAMA Marketer of the Year Award

Written by NAMA on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 , 11:30 am

NAMA has named Ed Peck, President and Owner of Filament, as the 2018 NAMA Marketer of the Year.

This recognition is the most prestigious honor awarded to an active member of the association and recognizes outstanding accomplishments in the field of agri-marketing. The NAMA Marketer of the Year award will be presented during the Second General Session of the 2018 Agri-Marketing Conference on Thursday, April 12, in Kansas City, Missouri, and is sponsored by Agri Marketing magazine.

Ed Peck founded Filament with the sole focus of staying involved in the agricultural industry and to be a conduit for clients. Thirteen years later, the agency has grown from a single-man shop into a forty-person enterprise with over twenty-five clients.

As a dairy and beef cattle owner himself, Peck immerses himself in the agricultural industry and the daily fluctuations which affect the livelihood of those farmers around him, as well as the companies who serve them. Peck encourages his team members to stay involved in the agricultural industry – whether it’s with their own farms or industry organizations and causes. Employees are encouraged to attend industry events.

Outside of the agricultural industry, Peck is passionate about encouraging employees to participate in professional development so team members continue to grow together as a business and expand their marketing expertise and knowledge.

Peck has been an active member of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) for decades. Involved at both the regional and national level, he has spoken at regional NAMA events and is a regular judge for National Best of NAMA. He also supports employee memberships and involvement in the organization.
