National Agriculture Day is set for March 24, 2020. This will mark the 47th anniversary of National Ag Day which is celebrated in classrooms and communities across the country. The theme for National Ag Day 2020 is “Food Brings Everyone to the Table.”

On March 24, 2020, the ACA will host major events in the nation’s capital including an event at the USDA as well as a Taste of Agriculture Celebration at the Library of Congress.  Additionally, the ACA will bring approximately 100 college students to Washington to deliver the message of Ag Day to the Hill.

These events honor National Agriculture Day and mark a nationwide effort to tell the true story of American agriculture and remind citizens that agriculture is a part of all of us. Many agricultural associations, corporations, students and government organizations involved in agriculture are expected to participate.

National Ag Day is organized by the Agriculture Council of America which is managed by NAMA.

In addition to the events in Washington, DC on March 24, the ACA will once again feature the Ag Day Essay Contest. The winning essay will be presented on National Ag Day.

There’s many sponsorship opportunities available. Visit www.agday.org for more information on National Ag Day 2020.

North Central NAMA Joins Global Hunger Effort

Written by NAMA on Friday, November 1, 2019 , 12:29 pm

North Central NAMA joined the effort to reduce global hunger this month at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan, Minnesota. The group joined other organizations to pack MannaRice meals to send to undernourished children overseas. They packed meals that would make their way to Haiti.

The music started and the packing began! The perfectly portioned meals provided a task for everyone in attendance, and the assembly line got more and more efficient with each pack. In just under an hour’s time, they helped pack enough meals to ensure food security for 49 children over the next 365 days.

Members enjoyed engaging in such a purposeful activity that will have meaningful global impact.

Cornhusker members in Omaha enjoyed starting their day at Panera Bread on Oct. 24. A small group had great conversation. Everyone was able to learn from one another during the Peer-to-Peer Q&A and each was able to take something actionable away from the meeting. Watch for information on the next Cornhusker event.
