On May 9, 2018 the MoKan NAMA chapter hosted four representatives from Kansas State University for a panel discussion about the National Bio and Agro-defense Facility, or NBAF, that is currently under construction in Manhattan, KS.

NBAF is the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s foremost animal disease research facility and it’s on Kansas State University’s Manhattan campus, placing it within the Kansas City Animal Health Corridor.

It will be a state-of-the-art, biocontainment laboratory for the study of diseases that threaten both America’s animal agricultural industry and public health. The NBAF will strengthen our nation’s ability to conduct research, develop vaccines, diagnose emerging diseases and train veterinarians.

For more information, visit www.ksu.edu/nbaf or contact R.W. Trewyn, Ph.D, National Bio and Agro-defense Facility Liaison, Kansas State University, at [email protected].
