Mo-Kan NAMA Shoots and Scores with Dec. Event
The Mo-Kan NAMA Chapter partnered with the Kansas City Agribusiness Club, the Livestock Publication Council, and National Association of Farm Broadcasters on a Social Networking Event, December 3. Approximately 61 people attended the event held at the College Basketball Experience in Kansas City, Mo.
Admission for the event was donations of canned goods and/or money for Harvesters Community Food Bank. The event yielded 200 pounds of canned goods and household items, and $75 in cash donations. The total donations will serve 528 meals in the Kansas City area!
Two new members also joined the Mo-Kan Chapter as part of a membership drive in coordination with the event, and several prospects are considering NAMA membership.
A good time was had by all during the evening, which featured a buffet and appetizers, a drawing for a cash door prize, a drawing for University of Kansas basketball tickets, a free-throw contest, and a 3-point shoot out. Sue Lee of Farm Journal Media won the cash drawing for $100 and Bob Brunker of JL Farmakis won the drawing for the basketball tickets. Andrew Venancio won the free-throw shooting contest, while Valley Renshaw of Bartlett & Company won the three-point shoot out. Each received a gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods as their prize.
Next month, Mo-Kan NAMA will host the Dickinson Scholars from the University of Missouri on Jan. 13th at Brio on the Plaza in Kansas City, Mo. starting at 5:30 p.m.
