2-2015_1 2-2015_2The Iowa NAMA Chapter held their February meeting, sponsored by Lessing Flynn and Two Rivers Marketing, on Friday the 13th at John Deere Financial in Johnston, IA.

The chapter invited Merlin Bartz, District Director and Ag Advisor for Congressman Steve King, to review the 2014 Farm Bill. Merlin spoke on the history, the implementation and the implications of the Bill.  The most common buzz of this year’s Farm Bill is it being more “complex” and “expensive” than past bills. Merlin explained that 2014’s Bill was formed the way farmers wanted – having two options, the PLC and ARC, which combined farmers’ wants and needs.

The next chapter meeting is on March 13th at the FFA Enrichment Center in Ankeny, IA.
